Curious about my choice of .is? Here are my reasons.

Am I from Iceland?
No, I'm not Icelandic. I was not born in Iceland, nor have I ever lived there. But I have visited and it was great!

Why a ccTLD?
Many common TLDs that you see on the web are actually ccTLDs, or, country code TLDs. Examples include, .io, .ai, .co, .me, .tv, .cc, .gg, and many others. ccTLD are not restricted to being used only in their home country.

So why .is?
Well, mostly because it was available! Single last name domains are hard to come by. I also think it is an aesthetically pleasing TLD, and I like that it is only 2 letters. It could make a scentence like 'Dylan Cleary is...' or it could stand for information system/server/site. I also wanted my sites to have a consistent tld, and there are many more .is domains available than .com, .net, .org, etc. Basically, I like it! But .is isn't the only option that would have fit the criteria, so why specifically .is?

Why else?
Here's the big one: Iceland consistently holds the highest ranking for internet freedom (source). Registering my domains in Iceland gives me peace of mind!

Any other reason?
That about sums it up. It's cool, different, available, and is the ccTLD of the top-rated country for internet freedom. Jump on the bandwagon and get yours today!
